C Ribet limited edition prints are of the highest quality, archival and printed by the artist himself. Prints are available framed, matted only, or as the print alone.
Purchasing a print unmatted (and unframed) saves you money and allows you to have your local framer work with you in selecting framing and matting to match your tastes and interior design motif. If you live in the Bay Area on the Peninsula, for custom archival framing of your C Ribet prints we recommend Thrasher's in San Carlos. GalleryCalifornia.com frames with white or sometimes black matting (depending upon which carries the image better) and generally a black wood frame. Sometimes a natural wood frame is used if the image requires it.
Images on display at shows and/or gallery locations typically are in the 'show framing' which is a black wood frame with a moderate to narrow matting with the image approximately centered within the matt area. The reason for this is consistency of presentation, ease of transport to and from shows and gallery locations, and cost savings for the quantity of work which we frame for such events.
You should feel under no obligation to use the 'show framing' for your prints. Please frame and matt your C Ribet to suit your style and the requirements of your display location - be it at your business or your home.
